Smarter planning for technology upgrades
As we approach the end of the summer – it’s time to start thinking about what 2018 has in store for your organization and the strategic moves you’ll be making. From planning, budgeting, to getting final approval – our experience is that the sooner you get started, the more proactive and decisive you can be.
Today we’re outlining a few strategic considerations for planning your technology efforts for next year.
Start Early: From operations to customer service, every department depends on the technology that makes their work seamless. The sooner you pull IT into the planning and decision-making process, the sooner everyone can get their arms around what is involved and feasible. August and September are the ideal time to start the discussion. We’re offering a one-hour free budgeting consultation (see the details below).
Seek Out Buy-Back Programs: Vendors like Cisco and ShoreTel are offering lucrative buy-back programs. Tap your managed service provider, like Information Technology Professionals (ITP), to take advantage of these programs to offset the cost of upgrades.
Consider the Cloud: For $8 a month, give your team access to the latest and greatest productivity tools in the cloud. With Microsoft’s Office 365 you’ll have access to Teams, Skype for Business, Bookings, and much more. Other business critical applications like QuickBooks, Adobe, and more are quickly following suit to offer subscription access to their latest applications.
Discover Usage Billing: Microsoft Azure usage billing is a flexible approach to cloud storage and resources. Usage billing allows you to turn up the amount of resources you need based on seasonal or other changes in your business. High traffic during the holiday season? Turn up your resources usage, and then turn them back off after the seasonal peak. Read more about Azure usage billing on Microsoft’s blog.
